Polly Ngala is part of the older women artists movement from Central Australia. She is from the Anmatyerre people and was born in 1940 at camel camp Utopia. Polly is the sister to Kathleen Ngala and from the same painting group as Emily Kane Kngwarreye.

Polly was one of the first Batik artists at Utopia in 1988 before progressing into painting on canvas.Polly paints in vibrant colours of red, orange and yellow depending on the season. She is a senior custodian of Bush Plum Dreaming and creates third dimensional images that reflect her country and the landscape where the Bush Plum grows. After rain the fruit and foliage of this sacred desert plant is prolific and Polly portrays the strong colours and abundance of fruit in her paintings design
Painted Country Gallery welcomes enquiries regarding her future work.
