'The Original Dreamtime Art Gallery' operated in Cairns Qld from 1992 to 2004.It was established by Rosemary to exhibit and promote the works of the Desert Aboriginal Artists from 'The Original Dreamtime Art Gallery' in Alice Springs and the Northern Aboriginal artists from Darwin,Arnhemland and Western Australia.Local Aboriginal artists from Far North Qld at this stage were comparably unrecognised, however their innovative rock and rainforest imagery was instantly well received by many interstate and overseas art collectors.

In 1992 Qld Jirrbalngan painter Woodinda and his wife Mundejah commenced to paint as in house artists for the Cairns gallery and subsequently a successful exhibition of their paintings was shown at the 'Dreamtime Gallery' in Alice Springs. The strong demand for their art resulted in the creation of a seperate area at the Alice Springs gallery to display their work.

The Cairns Gallery continued to expand under management and a stable of talented artists and craftsmen were strongly supported by the increasing demand and popularity of their art at the 'Dreamtime Gallery' in Alice Springs.

In 1998 another Gallery was established in Sydney NSW. This additional outlet now enabled the diversity of Aboriginal Art to be show cased from the Desert to the Rainforest and the Ocean.

'Painted Country Gallery' today still enjoys the resource of Aboriginal Art from many celebratedAboriginal Artists with trusted and honourable relationships that span two decades.

Painted Country's Gallery Director is proud to have been associated with so many recognised Aboriginal Artists over such a long period of time - enquiries regarding their works are welcome.
