Batik Silks by Atipalka Intjalki was one of the first Batik artists at Ernabella to create designs with coloured dyes,wax and a janting tool on silks and cottons.

These textiles were created primarily as art for decorative or asthetic purposes.Atipalka and her fellow Batik artists worked closely under the guidance of DeaconessWinifred Hilliard to create the legendry art pieces that today enjoy a worldwide reputation for their quality and beauty.

Atipalka's work can be viewed at the Australian National Museum Canberra.
